An amazing young man that was 6 at the time when he and his family lost their loved one in the attacks on 9/11/2001 in NYC. WWR had the honor to meet him on 9/11/2016 during the dedication of the steel artifacts we escorted in May of 2016 to Huntington, WV.

Most of you who know me well know that I don't make a big deal or participate in many special traditions for the eleventh each year; my father got up and went to work that day--how I personally honor his memory and the date is by doing the same.

This year was different.

Tom Bowen is the West Virginia firefighter who traveled hundreds of miles to help at Ground Zero and recovered my father's remains among all his other tremendous and selfless undertakings that week. Tom was able to secure two steel beams from the museum society associated with the World Trade Center in order to create a new monument in a park in his home town of Huntington, West Virginia.

They were able to bring the steel down from NY to WV, with the precious cargo being protected not only by the men and women in blue, but also with extra help from the baddest good guys I've ever met, The Warrior's Watch. If God ever had a special task force, it's these guys --to all of whom I am eternally grateful for ensuring the delivery of something that honors my father's memory, and the memory of all those who were stolen from us that day. Whether they were a CEO on the top floor or a cashier at a cafeteria, their memory is kept alive and protected thanks to everyone involved in this weekend's memorial.

God bless, everyone.

Thank You Charlie - I actually saw a video of the escort and the ceremony on youtube several days before seeing this........saw the WWR back patches and figured it was mainly NY folks. What a great thing to do!
