Harold Gray Golden, 2LT, USAF, 1951 - 1953,
Springfield, MO
Saturday, June 5, 2021

The family and loved ones of 2LT Harold Gray Golden have honored the Warriors Watch Riders (Patriot Guard Riders are welcome to participate as well) with a request for a Flag Line and Final Salute at Walnut Lawn Funeral Home while military honors are rendered.
According to the DD214 for this period, 2Lt Golden served 2 years 4 months 22 days in the Air Force Reserve, 1 years and 1 months 1 days of this was active duty Air Force. He completed the Basic Officer Military Course and Comm Officer course at Lackland AFB and then was stationed at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey where he was discharged.

2LT Golden, 93, passed away on June 1, 2021, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born in Meridian, Mississippi, and adopted by William Arthur Golden and Ora O’Briant Golden on August 10, 1927.
He was raised in Yazoo City, Mississippi, until he enlisted in the military. He went on to earn his Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering at Mississippi State University in 1950. Upon graduation, he gained employment with the US Geological Survey. He also served his community by being a leader in Boy Scouts, with his sons, and being a deacon in his church for many years.

Marie Golden, our hero's bride, preceded him in death in 2016. To this union three sons were born, Harold Jr., William, and Robert. Harold was also preceded in death by his adopted parents, and two sons William and Robert.

Harold is survived by his son, Harold Gray Golden Jr. and his wife Cindy; sister-in-law Lucinda Tidwell; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Harold enjoyed watching Western movies, baseball, (Braves by loyalty, Royals by love), and playing bingo. However, his greatest joy was spending time with his family. His family included those born into his family, and those adopted into the family.
