SEPA 6/8 Escort for KIA USAF Major S. Khou
WWR has been contacted regarding the escort of a fallen USAF Major who was KIA in Kuwiat recently.
Major Stephen Khou, a distinguished member of the United States Air Force, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2023 at the age of 36. Major Khou was deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, honorably serving his nation when fate called him away.
Major Khou was born in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009, then commissioned through the Air Force Officer Training School in 2012. He developed his career in cyber warfare while simultaneously earning his master’s degrees in engineering at UCLA in 2016 and cyber operations at the Air Force Institute of Technology in 2017.
Major Khou was a member of the 32nd Weapons Squadron, stationed at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. In this position, he was charged with executing a dual role as an instructor and Assistant Director of Operation for Defensive Cyber Operations. Through his intellect and dedication, he played an instrumental role in shaping the minds and tactics of future cyber weapons officers.
Major Khou received numerous military accolades including being named the 2019 "Defender of the Year" by the Joint Force Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network. Major Khou was also awarded two Air Force Achievement Medals and two Air Force Commendation Medals. He was also honored with the prestigious Meritorious Service Medal.
Major Khou's legacy will be a lasting testament to his remarkable character and unyielding resolve. He will always be remembered as a man of unparalleled courage and unwavering commitment to duty, who served his country with utmost dedication. His loss is deeply felt, but his indelible spirit will continue to inspire us all.
