SNJ 8/19 H/M US. Army Veteran Wayne A. Hammett, Sr. of Deptford passed away on August 10, 2023. Age 69. Beloved husband of Terri (nee Beres) for 28 years. Devoted father of Jennifer Hammett, Christine Hammett, Angela Fitzgerald (Mike), Rachel Woolson (John), Wayne Hammett Jr., Emily Hammett, and the late Lisa Hammett. Loving Grandpop of John Jr. and Kaitlyn. Cherished son of Ethel (nee Rockwell) Young. Dear brother of Joyce Miller, Roger Hammett and David Hammett. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a proud member of the Almonesson UMC. He retired 30 years from J. Ambrogi Produce where he was a Teamsters truck driver. Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family, attending church services, and taking trips to Atlantic City. Wayne was fond of CB radio and was known as Captain Midnight. There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 11am to 12 Noon at GARDNER FUNERAL HOME, RUNNEMEDE. Funeral service 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery Williamstown, NJ. |
