Thomas J. Evans, age 64, passed away at his home in Springfield, Pennsylvania on October 16, 2023.
Tom was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1977 and LaSalle College in 1981.
Tom lived his life to the fullest. He was literally a jack of all trades. He worked in the commercial deep sea diving industry on an oil rig as well as in the tourist diving industry as a dive instructor for several years in the Cayman Islands. He was an auto mechanic with McCafferty Ford in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and was also an IRL racer. However, Tom's true love was emergency services. He loved being a fireman and a paramedic.
Tom's career as a paramedic spanned more than 3 decades and numerous EMS squads and he was also an EMS Educator. Tom was a fulltime medic with Newtown EMS, part-time medic with Warrington Community Ambulance Corps. and is a life-member of the Nottingham Fire Department in Bensalem Township. Tom was loved and admired by his many peers and they have described him as an outstanding person and the definition of a true gentleman.
When Tom was not working or teaching, he enjoyed riding his Harley Road Glide, escorting veterans to Washington, DC with Honors Flight, traveling to exotic places to scuba dive and using his Disney Vacation Club membership. He also loved animals, especially his dog Harley.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother Lucille C. Evans (nee Campbell) and his father Rowland Evans (who passed away before Tom was born).
Tom is survived by his long-time loving companion, Carol A. Barrett and her two sons, Michael (Morgan) Battista and William (Catharine) Battista and their children who were like his children and grandchildren.

There were a lot of ambulances and crews there to show Tom's family support; so much so, that the police shut the street down. We hope Carol and her family find comfort in them and that people traveled from Montgomery and Bucks Counties to be there.
